The Sand Wash Ranch consists of approximately 2018 deeded acres, 1282 +/- State Lease acres and 7045 +/- BLM acres with elevations ranging from 5800 feet to 8200 feet. The ranch is in the coveted Unit 2 hunting area. This unit has produced several big bulls over the past 25 years. Nine land owner tags are potentially available! Ranch has been surveyed and divided into nine 160 or more contiguous acre tracts which are available for individual purchase.
Principle native vegetation on the ranch includes antelope bitterbrush, silver sagebrush, Wyoming big sagebrush and grasses with pinon and juniper trees covering the ridges and rolling hillsides.
Maybell Colorado is approximately 30 minutes east of the ranch. Maybell is an unincorporated rural village in Moffat County. The village, founded in the 1880s, was named after May Bell, the wife of a local cattleman. It is located in the valley of the Yampa River along U.S. Highway 40. Craig is 30 miles east along US 40, and Dinosaur is 57 miles to the west. State Highway 318 leads northwest from Maybell 61 miles to the Utah border, passing Browns Park National Wildlife Refuge.
