SOILS.  There look to be about three (3) different types of soil on the ranch. The lower levels of the ranch nearest the creek and cabin site are comprised of soils called Campwood-Knippa and Kerrville-Real complex. Familiar in name for being surrounding towns and counties, but consisting of deep, well-drained and moderately slowly permeable soils derived from limestone. The upper areas of the ranch consists of a sloping variation of Eckrant Rocks, aka, Limestone.
